Home isn't just a place—it's a feeling. While most of the tech world focuses on the efficient and convenient smart home, IKEA looked to Subjective for a deep understanding of the complicated emotions that people have about life at home.

The goal of the project was to explore how people hack, change, and adapt their space to suit emotional needs. Using mixed methods research, we explored everyday habits, crucible moments, and curious rituals around the home. The outcome was five patterns of feeling expressed through IKEA hacks that could guide digital content and design.
